Daily reading: The Survey of Texas Adults asked 1,504 people if they read the newspaper every day. (This is a good sample since there are a large number of Hispanics--25%.)

Percent who read the newspaper daily

Non-Hispanic whites 40.5
Non-Hispanic blacks 30.0
Hispanics 23.6

People generally think of Hispanics as falling somewhere between whites and blacks on social indicators, but it's not uncommon for me to run across statistics which put Latinos at the bottom.

Believe me Ron, Im not taking up for Hispanics. However, I simply refuse to buy and subsidize the Pravda-like-Gannett-Syndicate-Newspeak-Orewellian-Abomination of a "newspaper" in my city. I simply cannot give those people my money.

I flee to the internet and local TV broadcast for information as much as possible.

I cannot emphasize enough to conservatives that we need to NOT buy liberal media products (newspapers and magazines) if we can refrain from such. The best idea I know of is for ONE guy at the office to buy the paper, and have set times where the other 20 of you can glance through the paper if you just HAVE to know about something around town.

Maybe there are decent newspapers left in Texas though. Gannett has bought out the decent papers that existed in my part of the world, and promptly shut them down. We are a one-paper town. They even bought out the conservative-leaning alternative free weekly, and just changed its content to PC-gobbledygook.

The only way to stop liberal journalist from obfuscation, Soviet-Style slander, hiding "hatefactoids", and outright lies, is to unemploy them.

Hence the slow death of the LA Times.

Newspapers are an effective means for finding out what "the enemy" thinks, which explains why I continue to subscribe to the LA Times. I also subscribe to the OC Register, which unfortunately has started using more and more content from the AP, so now it's almost as PC as the LAT.

  4. Ack, I could never take the step of subscribing to see what the enemy thinks. It's not like my buck-a-day or whatever it is they charge for their anti-white filth is really going to keep them afloat; I would just cringe every time I had to shell out for it. Get a lot of the same AP stories on Yahoo! for free, anyway. That's about all of the Obama-worshipping, black-on-white-crime-covering-up, criticism-of-Muslims-forbidding media I can handle.

  5. I think the Black and White numbers are inflated by sports-only daily readers.

Hispanics have little to no interest in particular sports covered in the American papers laying around the cafeteria at work or at a coffee shop or a bar, or the bathroom stall. The Spanish-language ones are harder to obtain.
