ReplyDeleteThe religious groups of America aren't distributed evenly. A unionized Catholic plumber in NYC might make 150k a year, while Joe the Plumber in Toledo was reported to be making 40k as a middle age divorced man. However the cost of living in NYC, especially Manhattan, is vastly higher than it is in NW Ohio. I think I saw JtP in front of his house being interviewed on TV, so he may have a far higher standard of living.
ReplyDeleteThe lack of income data seems to be a major flaw in the GSS. I thought a major study like this would have data on something as obvious as income.
