Three cheers for The Super Domes

Have you ever noticed how the IQ guys have such huge noggins? I attended a paper presentation once in Toronto given by Phil Rushton, and I just sat there in the audience saying to myself, Damn that dude has got a big melon. I feel bad for their mothers. Like W.D. Hamilton wrote, thank God for modern obstetrics. A century ago these macrocephs might not have made it. Of course, all the nurturist extremists would have loved that.

I'm not sure these guys are exactly the cream of the IQ crop in the world. Sure, theyr'e very smart, the top fraction of course, but I doubt they're the true geniuses of the world that you make them out to be. And thank God for that, as their work, while very important and interesting, doesn't compare in import to say, medical research, physics, engineering, etc. in terms of its impact on the quality of life and civilization.

  2. No, I haven't claimed that these guys are the smartest you could possibly find. I will claim that they are some of the bravest scholars around.

You are the one who is interested in who is the very smartest. Elites will tell you that you need to get professional help for that (while they wonder the same thing).

The type of researchers you mention are applauded for their efforts, and rightly so. These men are reviled.

Memorizing tons of bullshit for several years, cherry-picking the information they like, and regurgitating the points they want people to read/hear.....yes, a sure sign of brains.
And you continue to vehemently insist your blog is not about "NAM inferiority".

I'd have to say that Rushton is the only one of the four who may actually have a disproportionately large head. And even in his case, his large facial features may tend to exaggerate the size of his head.

Jensen and especially Murray have receding hairlines. As with Rushton-like large features, a receding hairline makes a man's head look larger than it really is.

I don't see anything unusual about Lynn's head size.

What I have vehemently insisted is that NAM problems are not the fault of whites. You shut up, then I will.

I am not so sure that head size at birth is really going to correlate. My son's head at age 7 was as big as mine full grown. I only know because he had a homework assignment where we measured our hands, heads etc. Anyway at birth, he popped out quick and easy 15 minutes after arriving at the hospital, so mom didn't suffer.

I made this same exact point at my blog in this post:

Basically, HBD is simply a response to racialist politics. I cite you in that post as well.

  8. It would be interesting to compare the hat size of J.P. Rushton, the leading student of the correlation of brain volume and IQ, and that of the late S.G. Gould, the most prominent demonizer of the field.

    I wear a 7 and 5/8ths hat (Extra-Large), so I tend to lean toward Rushton's view.

For what it's worth, a friend wore a 7 7/8th size hat. He said the only country he ever visited where the stores routinely sold hats big enough to fit him was Australia.
