The wussification of America II

This graph shows trends in American attitudes toward spanking (GSS data). From 1986 to 2010, the percent disapproving or strongly disapproving (green and yellow) almost doubled from 17 percent to 31 percent. At this rate, we'll soon be joining the other countries that have banned corporal punishment.

Richard Kulisz will be pleased, if he is capable of such an emotion.

  3. All Americans. It doesn't change much if non-whites are removed.

  4. Children misbehave when they have more sociopathic (i.e. male) traits. They are more selfish and aggressive. Their parents respond with physical aggression because they share the same sociopathic genes and traits with their children.

Spanking has declined for the same reason crime has declined: people have gotten less violent. Parents are less inclined to use aggression because they have grown less sociopathic and children are less likely to misbehave because they have grown less sociopathic.
