Late-term abortions

Only an unreasonable person would argue that it's okay to abort this 22 week old fetus. The argument gets a little more complicated as we move closer to conception, but as far as I'm concerned killing this baby is murder (with the one exception of taking its life saving the life of the mother).

Pro-choice folks might respond that these types of abortions rarely happen; only 1% of all cases or a total of 16,450 were fetuses 22 weeks or older last year. Well, in 2007 the national total of all murders was 15,707--743 fewer deaths than from these types of abortions.

I don't need to go into all the ways this country frets over our homicide problem and how many resources are devoted to its reduction. Hands are wrung over all the the dead drug dealers, but only right-wing nut jobs like me care about abortion. Plus, murder is usually something like two idiots arguing over 20 bucks, while late-term abortions are industrial slaughter.

And women are not having these kinds of abortions to save their lives:

"In 1987, the Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI), an affiliate of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), collected questionnaires from 1,900 women who were at abortion clinics procuring abortions. Of the 1,900, '420 had been pregnant for 16 or more weeks.' These 420 women were asked to choose among a menu of reasons why they had not obtained the abortions earlier in their pregnancies. Only two percent (2%) said 'a fetal problem was diagnosed late in pregnancy,' compared to 71% who responded 'did not recognize that she was pregnant or misjudged gestation,' 48% who said 'found it hard to make arrangements,' and 33% who said 'was afraid to tell her partner or parents.' The report did not indicate that any of the 420 late abortions were performed because of maternal health problems." ["Why Do Women Have Abortions?," Family Planning Perspectives, July/August 1988.]

The main reason for these abortions is stupidity, and those involved are criminals.

I think Stephanie Klein's decision to have an abortion is an example of a "unnecessary" late term abortion, but socially useful because it penalized her then husband's infidelity. She was married and pregnant. Her husband cheated on her. She had an abortion and got divorced. This act of retaliation puts a high price on infidelity.

"At age 29, Klein learns that her perfect “on paper” Jewish doctor husband is cheating with “Mrs. Robinson,” a 43-year-old socialite. Klein makes the tough decision of having an abortion instead of bringing a fatherless child into the world and then she she jumps into the circus of Manhattan dating through the Internet and random hook-ups in the Hamptons—all to fill a void in her life."

  3. Murder? Is that all you care about?

What about the basic human right to have untrammelled sex and face no consequences whatsoever?

    You,Sir, are a barbarian.

Who cares? The vast majority of abortions are committed by Democrats. In a generation or two, there won't be any Democrats left.

    Ron,

Thats a pretty ugly thought isn't it? That baby in the photo being killed. So many women in their forties who went childless who'd practically kill to have that baby.

Since the media wont allow people to SEE what a 22 week old fetus looks like, folks just dismiss the situation. If they knew how baby-like a 22 week old fetus was.....eyes, teeth, fingers, nails, eyebrows, nose, mouth, moods, sucking thumbs, etc.........oh well, NBC will never air that. Welp, there is always YouTube.

Im no pro-life fanatic, hell....I hardly ever think about it. But I know abortions that happen after the first couple of months require a very-baby-like-life to be killed, a heart to stop beating, and the poor creature to be basically murdered.

If we were REQUIRED to watch a film of a 22 week abortion, very few people would ever have one.......but you are never going to see that allowed.

Apparently, the Anonymous just above me wants to move to Zimbabwe to revel in the joy of low iq childlike high violence people. Or maybe he should just consider moving to Detroit - and putting his ids in public schools there.

  8. People that support the left-wing illuminati and their liberal views should see this. I bet they'd run to the right side then.

    Beautiful baby.

I am a woman fan of Steve Sailer and just discovered this blog.

What is needed is for the prolife men to work on developing artificial wombs.

Nutty thinking, maybe, but hear me out. The only rational justification for abortion lies in the answer to the question of which is more heinous -- death of an innocent or the enslavement of a woman who is pregnant and doesn't want to be but cannot get an abortion -- if the answer is, enslavement is more heinous, then abortion is the lesser of 2 evils. If you believe enslavement is the lesser, then there is NO justification for abortion, ever. Not for mom's death, not for incest, rape, nothing.

So -- artificial wombs, if one could be developed, like artificial hearts, keeps the child alive and also unburdens the pregnant woman.

Adoptive parents who do, indeed, want that baby, ought to pay the costs.
