Jews vs. Episcopalians, Part II: We saw in Part I that Jews (Js), on average, have larger incomes than Episcopalians (Es), but is that simply due to higher status jobs? I looked at average occupational prestige scores (that range from 0 to 100) and found that it was 51.7 for Js and 49.5 for Es. This is not much of a difference.

    Many Es are in small towns, and in the South. Income should likely be scaled by cost of living; so perhaps income should be scaled by, say, the median income of the state in which they live.

    Perhaps the census/GSS has some other region that would be better for this case such as metropolitan area and (state-state's metropolitan areas)

    Doesn't Episcopal include African Methodist Episcopal? I think that would drag a lot of black Americans under the "Episcopal" category? Or do they fall under the Methodist category?

    Anonymous:AFEs have their own category, but I didn't exclude blacks, and I imagine there are there might be some black Episcopals.
