Any backtracking at all reinforces the freakouters. To hell with them. There is absolutely nothing to be apologetic about and it's time we began speaking that way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26188478.post-494420562098581662008-10-21T20:18:00.000-07:002008-10-21T20:18:00.000-07:00The 'race freakout' which has been ongoing for the...The 'race freakout' which has been ongoing for the last 50 or so years is escalating, and it does undoubtedly hamper us in dealing with our most pressing problems as a society. For example: our tidal wave of immigration. Because the vast majority of our immigrants, legal and illegal, are nonwhite, we are hamstrung by fear of being called ''racists'' when we express unhappiness with mass immigration. We are hindered from trying to encourage assimilation or to require immigrants to learn English because the race card is played when we raise these issues.
The race problem is also affecting our educational system for the worse, with the effort to 'raise achievement levels' among minorities, whose difficulties in learning are blamed only on white 'racism.'
And then there's the subprime mortgage crisis, and the overall effect on our economy, connected to immigration and to the efforts to artificially create 'equality'.

As to 'sfg's point about ethnocentrism, of course the ethnic groups he mentions would vote in an ethnocentric way, because the groups mentioned are minority groups with a stronger ethnic consciousness than most 'generic' Americans who are a mixture of several western European ancestries. The more recent immigrant groups are highly ethnocentric, and are allowed to be so. Only old-stock White Americans are laboring under the illusion that the name of the game is to be 'colorblind' and 'just an American.' That puts us at a huge disadvantage, when everybody else sticks together with their ethnic/racial kin, and we gamely try to play the 'colorblind' game.Vanishing Americanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07723746944036650219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26188478.post-44853697187197756372008-10-21T18:28:00.000-07:002008-10-21T18:28:00.000-07:00sfg,So race is OK if you are black I guess. When they reach 25% of the population, they will effectively control our elections because they will vote in roughly a 65/35 block for Democrats, and if said Democrat has a Hispanic surname, you can probably peg that split at more like 80/20, if not higher.

The time is coming when candidates for office from either party will be considered "unelectable" if they do not speak Spanish, and since most Anglos don't speak Spanish, that means we will be a majority non-Hispanic country ruled by Hispanics. The implications for that are surely not positive, if the quality of our elected officials here in California is any indication. Corruption, self-dealing, and anti-white bigotry are just some of the wonderful features of California politics, courtesy of dirtbags like Fabian Nunez, Gil Cedillo, Tony Villar, et al.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
