Obama and the NAACP assume that black officials are anti-white

One observation about the Shirley Sherrod flap. As soon as the Obama administration and the NAACP got wind of a tape showing reverse discrimination by a black person, they assumed it was true. Sherrod was immediately forced to resign, and the NAACP issued a statement condemning her comments made at one of their meetings.

So why did they jump the gun when doing so ended up hurting them?  Because they assumed that it was likely that a black woman had discriminated against a white man. Why would they assume that? Because they know how common it is among blacks to want to help their own over whites. They acted on the assumption that Sherrod was anti-white because they saw it as the smart bet with a black person in power. Whites would probably not make such an assumption, but whites do not know black leaders like Obama and the NAACP do.

You could just admit you were wrong. Instead of pulling a Breitbart.

The media STILL don't have this story straight.

The lesson to be learned from this incident, they screamed today on all their shows, is "not to take things out of context" for in so doing, they say, an "innocent woman" who merely told a story about how she experienced a self-revelatory and redemptive moment in which she recognized her bigotry, was unfairly accused of bias and prejudice. She was "wronged."

"Next time, we all should take a deep breath," they urged all day. "We all should have looked at the ENTIRE video before passing judgment. We have all, hopefully, learned from our mistake."

Oh, really? As unbelievable as it is, I don't think they have watched the full tape even as I type. If they had, they'd have see the irony of it all, for on the tape, the "innocent woman" who 24 years ago realized that she harbored racial animus accuses people who have fought against Obamacare of racism.

Oh, REALLY??????? Isn't this evidence of the same bigotry illustrated 24 years ago? There's been NO CHANGE IN THIS WOMAN'S HEART.

Yet everyone has apologized to her for accusing her of bigotry!?!?!?!?!

Yep. Even O'Reilly tonight, too busy being alternately embarrassed yet self-satisfied over his apology to her, didn't catch the obvious.

In her remarks to the NAACP, Sharrad is just as judgmental, just as petty, just as bigoted as the day she says she wasn't going do all she could to aid the white farmer (until her epiphany, of course.)

So, uh, 24 years have gone by and she does the same thing and no one, except Beck (who has said he has looked into her history but for now is remaining fairly politely quiet, biding his time, I am sure) sees this?

Yeah, in Sharrod's eyes, if you opposed the President's health care reform, you did so because of racism.

ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN---still haven't watched the entire tape. Un-freakin'-believable.

And for this, she gets an offer of a better job?

    (part 2)......Here's your comment:
"I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep if liberals are sometimes called communists or fascists or totalitarians or potheads or degenerates or mentally ill or subversives or traitors or cowards or civilization destroyers. In fact, I'll join in if the accusation seems to have traction because a punch in the nose deserves a punch in the eye."

So really, with this admission, why should we take ANYTHING that you say seriously? I've never read a blogger saying that he'll lie because that's what is fair. If you are so outraged that you can't see how wrong this is, maybe you should step back and reflect on whether or not these racism charges are so upsetting because you haven't come to grips with your "negrophobia." Someone who is correct and well-intentioned not only doesn't allow false generalities and bigotry to be uttered in their presence, they do NOT contribute just to even the score with some imagined enemy. Especially fellow countrymen, neighbors, and under other circumstances, maybe potential friends.

You, however, are too scared and angry. At least I know not to take anything else that you say seriously. Thanks for the heads up!

    To commenter 4 who said,

"Listen, racists: don't make such sweeping statements about people you know nothing about."

Hey, Shirley, welcome to the board!
Maybe we can help you with your anger management problem so that you'll not spend the rest of your life so embittered you can't see your real enemies.

Their comments prove them to be racists. That's how someone can tell.

Too bad for Figgins. He was at 2nd where he was supposed to be. By the time the ball missed the cut off and took a bounce Cameron was up and on his way to third and he was directly between Figgins and the ball. That was not his fault at all.

way to late to be doing that kindof stuff Wakamatsu!! Like the poster says above, should have been done to Jack Wilson and a number of other snaffuing players other than figgy. He has at least played hard and hustled all year, that throw was horrible and I'm sure he didn't know where Saunders was throwing too. I didn't!! Lopez is a joke, he loves Wak because he hasn't been benched himself for his terrible play at third and hitting CLEANUP!!Lopez, does not play hard and is slow as molasses, he's latino after all and they NEVER hustle. Figgys' season sucs for sure but all the M's have been having down years, we are last in all offensive cats so we all suck!@!

First, the LF clearly was dogging it and his throw was awful, but Figgins also clearly didn't have his head in a 1-1 game either. He was just standing there on 2B. Sure he couldn't have stopped it where he was but he should have been more active and alert. Lazy play for a lame duck manager. Let's be honest, Figgins has been awful this year.

i agree with Danny P. wasn't that bad. the 2nd baseman is technically the backup but he stays at the bag ready for a relay from the SS. it looked like the SS would get it, but by the time the ball was over his head, there was nothing Figgins could do. the 2B doesn't move in anticipation of the SS missing the ball, otherwise he wouldn't be in position at 2B. plus, as Danny P astutely pointed out, Cameron was between Figgins and the ball. if Figgins had gone for it, there would have been a nasty collision. Wakamatsu was wrong.

First off, I had Figgins on my fantasy team but dropped him a while back...the .230 BA wasn't helping nor was his OBP and steals.......
Back to Figgins, it's probably not his fault that he was covering second and not anticipating a missed cut-off throw. It appeared to me that he had no chance of stopping the errant throw. The confrontation in the dugout was probably an isolated incident or a culmination of what the team sees in practices and other mental errors in previous games. Anyway, let's clean up the game...financially speaking.

"Who are the real enemies, by the way?"

Those who would keep anyone in a dependent state.

Lots of parents are enemies of their own offspring, for they would keep their children, whether aged 7, 17, 27, 37, 57 in a dependent state, arguing all along, of course, that their kids "need them," and that they only wish to "protect them."

Of course, it is actually the parent who is needy, not the kid. A child made dependent fills the parent's psychological void and maintains that parent's narcissism.

A liberal is like that parent who needs to feel not just valued, but omnipotent. Liberal programs keep people dependent.

It's shameful to treat people as if they were infants and in so doing make them infantile. It's the greatest illustration of disrepsect I can think of.

"When minorities don't lean predominantly left, I'll tend to agree with your disrespect claim. Unless you think that they hate and disrespect themselves."

Almost anyone can be made dependent if the training begins early enough.

Dependency in most (but not all) leads to a lack of self respect which, in turn, leads to hatred and/or jealousy of those possessing self-respect.

A society that encourages dependency by telling people that they are not responsible for their life's shortcomings is a society that tears everything and everyone down. There are no eventual winners in such a society, for it will fall.

I taught high school kids for over 30 years. I know what motivates and what doesn't.
