You can see some of her essays here:

http://judithrichharris.info/tna/birth-order/index.html

I believe that she criticised some of the previous research on birth order and personalities for not taking into account family size; members of small families achieve more and also have more first-borns. Another source of error is using within-family ratings of personality traits which are more age dependant and differ from outside observer ratings.

Apparently she had some trouble obtaining a Ph.D, possibly due to her challenging of various dogmas about environmental influence but now she is fairly well respected.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26188478.post-1363836473975259112011-10-10T19:59:04.906-07:002011-10-10T19:59:04.906-07:00Birth order stuff doesn't seem to have panned ...Birth order stuff doesn't seem to have panned out.Steve Sailerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11920109042402850214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26188478.post-50742805406359960212011-10-05T14:58:03.232-07:002011-10-05T14:58:03.232-07:00Ron,

What are other quantitative psychological traits that are important also?

Mostly it's about IQ and the big five, but there must be lots and lots more out there. As an amateur it's hard for me to judge for myself, please elaborate.

--MacianoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26188478.post-2081745407081377222011-10-05T10:44:18.275-07:002011-10-05T10:44:18.275-07:00Sure would be nice to check my thoughts against th...Sure would be nice to check my thoughts against the study without paying $30.
